Greg Ehret Named President

State Street Global Advisors (SSGA), the asset management business of State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT), today announced that Greg Ehret, age 45, has been named president. He will continue to report to Ron O’Hanley, chief executive officer of SSGA.

Ehret, a 20-year veteran of SSGA, has held a number of executive positions in operations, sales and product development, including co-head of the firm’s exchange traded fund (ETF) business.

“What has been obvious to me since I arrived at SSGA is the respect that Greg has across all levels of the organization, the passion with which he approaches what he does and the commitment he has to our clients,” said O’Hanley. “Having led teams both here in the US and Europe in his more than two decades at SSGA, Greg has a broad understanding of what our clients need to succeed. His leadership is felt throughout SSGA and will be instrumental as we advance our strategy.”

Ehret led SSGA’s business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) from July 2008 to September 2012 including the purchase of the Bank of Ireland Asset Management and spearheading State Street’s European ETF franchise.

Ehret is responsible for SSGA’s client facing, product and marketing, operations and infrastructure teams and will lead the execution of the non-investment aspects of strategy. He will also continue to leverage SSGA’s global footprint, scale and talent to both deepen and broaden the range of capabilities for clients..
