World Smart City community

World experts will address key pain points that hinder Smart City development during a World Smart City Forum and live-stream in Singapore on 13 July 2016. Online audiences are invited to submit questions.

Today, most cities would like to become smart but many city planners don’t really know how to achieve this objective. Cities battle with pain points that touch the sustainable supply of energy and water, or how to eliminate gridlock and related pollution while allowing citizens to move around.

At the World Smart City Forum in Singapore, world experts will provide insights on energy, water, mobility and cyber security, and discuss strategies and tools that are already available. The aim is to help cities reach their “smart city” objectives faster and allow them to achieve better outcomes.

The World Smart City Forum will take place on Wednesday, 13 July 2016 at the Marina Bay Sands Conference Centre in Singapore, co-located with the World Cities Summit and Singapore International Water Week. More than 300 participants are expected. Programme available here

The organizers are keen to involve online audiences in the discussion and live streaming will be available from Ustream, from 09:00 Singapore time (UTC+8). Questions can be submitted live to the moderator and panels via Ustream, via social media using #worldsmartcity2016 or via the World Smart City community as well as by e-mail.

The World Smart City Forum is organized by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) in partnership with ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and ITU (International Telecommunication Union). The event and community are supported by many important city organizations and international, regional and national standards bodies.
