Nomura announces Eddie Jones partnership

Nomura, Asia’s global investment bank, today announced the beginning of a three year partnership in Europe with Eddie Jones, England Rugby Union Head Coach.
Jonathan Lewis, Head of EMEA at Nomura, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Eddie, who will be working with our client-facing leadership team, sharing his leadership and coaching insights with clients and how they apply to the corporate world.”
Eddie’s Japanese background and skill coaching high performing teams in Japan and globally makes him an ideal fit for Nomura’s brand position of connecting markets East and West.
Commenting on the partnership, Eddie Jones, England Rugby Union Head Coach, said: “I’m very pleased to be working with Nomura. There are obvious parallels with teams that I’ve coached. I hope to be able to share some of my experiences of what it takes to achieve success at the very highest level of competition with Nomura’s clients and people, as well as on helping diverse groups work successfully together.”
Mr. Jones previously coached the Japan rugby team to the biggest international result in their history during the 2015 Rugby World Cup, when Japan’s national team beat one of the tournament favourites, South Africa.
Since then Mr. Jones has taken over as Head Coach of England and in his first season won the Six Nations Grand Slam and a clean sweep of victories over Australia. He is now working towards the next Rugby World Cup in Tokyo in 2019 having led the team to a second Six Nations win in 2017.
