La grande notizia non è tanto il taglio di 50 pb, quanto piuttosto la riduzione delle previsioni di crescita e la forte revisione al ribasso​ dei cosiddetti “dots” ​(le indicazioni dei singoli governatori). La Fed sembra sicura di aver vinto la battaglia contro l’inflazione e ammette che la politica monetaria a questo punto è troppo restrittiva, soprattutto in considerazione delle preoccupazioni sulla crescita.
