Description
The latest World Bank EU Regular Economic Report, Clean Tech Value Chains: Using Trade Data to Guide a Complex Policy Space, looks at the opportunities and policy options for selected Central and Easter European Countries (Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, and Croatia) to participate in clean tech value chains. The report deploys trade, firm, and investor survey data, to look at five (5) carefully mapped value chains (EV batteries, solar, wind, heat pump and electrolyzers) to assess the countries’ existing participation in the value chains; and to simulate what export opportunities they face if the EU delivers on its NZIA targets. As countries are looking to devise their green industrial strategies, the report also revisits the industrial policy toolkit.
