Medio Oriente. Le borse chiudono durante il Ramadan?

Il Ramadan, il mese sacro per i musulmani, inizia con l’avvistamento della luna nuova e termina con il successivo termine del ciclo lunare. Nel 2024, il Ramadan inizia con la prima luna nuova del nono mese del calendario islamico, che coincide con lunedì 11 marzo. Il periodo di digiuno avrà invece fine con il termine del ciclo lunare, martedì 9 aprile 2024.

Durante il Ramadan, i musulmani osservanti digiunano da poco prima della preghiera dell’alba, Fajr, fino alla preghiera del tramonto, Maghrib. Il digiuno comporta l’astinenza dal mangiare, dal bere, dal fumare e dai rapporti sessuali, al fine di raggiungere una maggiore “taqwa”, ovvero consapevolezza di Dio. In molti Paesi a maggioranza musulmana, l’orario di lavoro viene ridotto e molti ristoranti chiudono durante gli orari di digiuno per permettere il rispetto di queste regole.

Alla fine del Ramadan, i musulmani celebrano l’Eid al-Fitr, la “festa della rottura del digiuno”. Questa festa dura tre giorni e inizierà il 10 o l’11 aprile, a seconda della data di avvistamento della luna nuova.

Le Borse restano aperte, tranne per le giornate del Eid al-Fitr.

Orari di negoziazione in Medio Oriente

Gli orari di apertura in Medio Oriente variano a seconda della borsa.

Arabia Saudita. La borsa saudita, ad esempio, nota come Tadawul, è aperta dalle 10:00 alle 15:00 (ora locale) da domenica a giovedì, vale a dire dalle 8:00 alle 13:00 CEST. In Arabia Saudita, il fine settimana inizia il venerdì e termina il sabato, il che significa che la borsa di Tadawul è una delle poche borse al mondo aperta di domenica. Tra i giorni festivi più importanti in Arabia Saudita vi sono la Festa Nazionale del Regno (23 settembre) e il citato Eid-al-Fitr, che commemora la fine del Ramadan.

Iran. Altra importante borsa del Medio Oriente è quella di Teheran, la capitale dell’Iran. La borsa di Teheran è aperta dalle 9:00 alle 12:30 (ora locale) da sabato a mercoledì, ovvero dalle 6:30 alle 10:00 CEST. Questo perché il fine settimana in Iran va dal giovedì al venerdì, anziché dal sabato alla domenica, che sono invece giorni lavorativi. L’Iran ha il maggior numero di feste comandate al mondo e alcune delle più importanti sono Nowruz (19, 20 o 21 marzo, a seconda dell’anno), la Festa della Repubblica Islamica (generalmente il primo aprile, ma può cambiare in base all’anno) e il Giorno della morte di Khomeini (4 giugno).
